The Brighouse Echo Business Awards took place on 1st May 2014 at the Holiday Inn, Clifton As in previous years it was a sparkling occasion. It was introduced by John Kenealy, Editor of the Brighouse Echo, and the host for the evening was the delightful television presenter Clare Frisby who kept the evening going in her own quirky style.
The main sponsor this year was Kirklees College who opted to support the Forget-Me-Not Children’s Hospice for which a collection was taken during the evening. Sleigh and Story were proud to sponsor the Larger Business Of The Year category which had some very strong contenders.
Brighouse has many quality businesses and ambassadors who are worthy of an accolade and the task of selecting a winner for each of the ten categories was (as always) a difficult job for the judges. We are very proud that Debbie & Peter were acknowledged for their dedication getting businesses to connect with each other through networking and free workshops. They were honoured to be awarded the trophy and title ‘Best For Brighouse’. They collected the award from the sponsors of that category, Arrow Coach Travel.
It was a double celebration for Sleigh & Story as Peter also won the award ‘Business Person Of The Year’ – a title he was humbled to receive and the audience reaction acknowledged that he was a worthy winner.
