The Launch of Together for Looked after Children
Today the Charity TLC Together for Looked after Children was launched. It’s aim is to assist the 176 children who are in care in Calderdale. Currently the charity is funding a scheme whereby a parcel is sent out to all younger children in care with books etc -the sort of thing that kids not in care take for granted. It also helps to make them feel wanted. Another sobering statistic-49% of the current prison population have been in care! so many problems are inter connected!
