Chris Hopkins, Managing Director of solar panel specialist Ploughcroft will be the keynote speaker at the monthly Brighouse Link networking lunch on Thursday 26th April at Prego restaurant at the Waterfront Hotel, Brighouse.
Chris, who is best known for his appearance on BBC TV’s Dragon’s Den, has delivered inspirational and motivation speeches at many regional and national events,as well as industry awards ceremonies.
At the networking lunch, Chris will tell his story of how he took his business from a turnover of £1.2m and loss of £200k to a turnover of £12m and a healthy profit within three years.
After successfully securing investment from Deborah Meaden and Theo Paphitis on Dragons Den, which was part of his visionary strategy of building his business into the UK’s leading renewables brand, Chris saw sales double.
His appearance on Dragons Den resulted in over 1,000 enquiries for solar PV in two weeks and helped secure national recognition for his company. During the last 12 months Chris has extended Ploughcroft’s national presence with the opening of eight additional locations around the country.
More recently, Ploughcroft has also achieved national recognition by winning many awards for the quality of its installations and the training courses it delivers. Chris himself has also received recognition for what he has achieved at Ploughcroft, including being awarded ‘Business person of the Year’ by the Halifax Courier and Director of the Year by the Institute of Directors (Yorkshire and Humber).
